FREE THINGS TO DO
GO FOR A PICNIC / COOK A MEAL AT HOME
If one of you always does the cooking, why not take this opportunity to return the favour. Start the day with breakfast in bed, then lunch with a cute little love note or a romantic meal in the evening, I’m certain it would be appreciated! Alternatively, a picnic indoors or outdoors would be so romantic too.
TAKE A ROMANTIC WALK
Visit a special place like where you first met, or somewhere where you can sit and enjoy a scenic view. Wherever it is, a walk gives you time to relax and enjoy each others company and to really talk without distractions.
VISIT A MUSEUM OR GALLERY
Most museums and galleries are free to visit so why not make a Valentine’s Day a cultural day and check out what’s happening in your area.
HAVE A DUVET DAY!
Grab some munchies, drinks, Netflix and chill out having a duvet day doing nothing but watching episode after episode of your fave series or line up of movies, especially with this cold, cold weather we’re experiencing right now, it’s perfect!
CHEAP THINGS TO DO
GO ON A DATE
Once you get comfortable in a relationship, you forget about date night. Make time for each other and go see a movie, grab some dinner and have fun! Even cooler if you have some open air cinema thing going on near you.
Flowers and chocs are nice but why not find each other something a bit different, or something that they’ve always wanted but felt guilty for buying? Better still, these mugs, coasters and cushions in my store will surely put a smile on someone’s face every morning 🙂
TRY SOMETHING NEW
Check out things you can do locally like cocktail or chocolate making or book something you can do with other couples or friends as a group experience like go karting, skydiving, ice skating etc. It’s always fun to experience something you both haven’t tried or would never normally.
Since Valentine’s Day is on a weekday this yea, you could spoil your partner a little the weekend before to a nice romantic weekend away. Whether it be in the close to home or overseas, it’s nice to get away for a lovers break.
GO TO A CONCERT OR THEATRE
Ok, so going to a concert or theatre ain’t that crazy but it can still be pretty expensive, especially when you’ve got to stay over. But, seeing one of your fave artists perform is one thing that you’ll remember all your life. Make the most of it and use it as a mini break- find someone nice to stay and enjoy a romantic meal together.
Life life being pampered from head to to with a spa weekend for you and your partner. Enjoying massages with oils that you can’t even pronounce the name of, fancy facials, manicures and pedicures, relax in a Jacuzzi and get steamy in the sauna (by steamy i do mean enjoy the steam – not do naughty things). If you’re usually running around and always on the go, a spa weekend would be perfect to enjoy stress-free time.
Book a surprise, romantic (or adventure packed) week or two away. Go see the sights of a new country and experience a different culture. Stop at or one of those weird and unique hotels and book as many excursions as you can. Spend time laughing and remembering why you fell in love.
